I watched the Ayr Dundee game. Bennet looked sharp for only a seventeen year old, is he in any of the glasgow academy set-up I noticed in the programme the Dundee winger Fleming who is on a part time contract with glasgow warriors, I hadnt noticed this signing so kept an eye on him. He touched the ball twice in the first half and made two 40metre breaks burning up his opposite man unlucky not to score both times. He then scored a superb solo try from a blindside halfway scrum in the last play of the game, beating three men and rounding the full back, converting his own try from the touchline. Looks like he has some pace, does anyone know much about him?

Fleming does indeed have plenty of gas. In the pre-season game with the Warriors he stood up Hefin and burnt him for 60 meters on one play and almost went the length of the field with another outside break. He looks a really promising player. I am pretty sure he was Dundee's top try scorer last season as well.

Bennett is in the Regional Academy, which means he gets advice, support, on training, gym work, diet, skill development etc, but is not yet on a full time Elite Development contract - but no one that age is. One of the really promising signs of developing Glasgow rugby - Bennett, Beckwith, McConnell, McAlpine, Gossman....all coming along behind Richie Gray as locally produced players of huge potential. Interesing article by Ferrie in the Herald today on some of the Hawks new players...does seem remarkable that they can pull players like Milne from Waysiders, and Miller from Garnock, and put them straight into Premier 1 1st XV and they look at home. Makes you wonder how many other good players are waiting to be discovered in lower league clubs around Glasgow

With regards to great talent in the lower leagues, there are several young talents in the whitecraigs team that are worth a trip to see

Sure Whitecraigs will be please that their players are being put in spotlight. However they should remain where they are. At least they are playing 1st XV rugby there. Go to the clubs with large number of players and 2nd XV beckons, which will not do ant of these talented players any good.
