Rory was born in Glasgow and attended Kings Park Secondary School.
Currently studying rugby performance at Cumbernauld College, he has been selected for Glasgow at all age grade levels, has played for Scotland under-17 and is a member of Scottish Rugby's performance player development programme.
Rory's grandfather played rugby for Glasgow University.
At the start of season 2011/2012 he made the move across the city from GHA to Glasgow Hawks before moving on to Stirling County for season 2012/2013.
