St Joseph's College educated Sykes was born in Woodbridge but qualfiies for Scotland through his Grandad.
The second-row has represented Scotland at U18 level and made his U20 debut during the 2018 Six Nations.
Sykes was named in the Scotland squad for the 2018 World Rugby U20 Championship.
