Ayr 10 - 40 Glasgow Warriors

Development match played at Millbrae on Monday August 15th 2005 | No comments

Craig Hamilton came on for the third and fourth quarters of the match at Millbrae
Glasgow ran out winners by eight tries to two in this training match at Millbrae, but not before Ayr had charged into a 10-0 lead.

Billed as a training match, it certainly didn't look that way as both sides put in some big hits and abrasive footwork.

After two good tries from Ayr - Glasgow trialist Eddie McLaughlin scoring one of them - the Warriors superior pace and fitness eventually saw them go over for eight tries.

Mike Roberts and Graydon Staniforth looked quick and powerful, while Andy Henderson put in a couple of huge hits when he came on. Glasgow apprentice Iain Kennedy did some good work at inside centre and Rory Lamont looked dangerous with ball in hand and solid in defence.

The Glasgow forwards looked a bit out of sorts against a powerful and agressive Ayr pack. Stuart Corsar and Fergus Thomson were prominent in the loose and Jon Petrie and Andy Wilson put in good shifts.
