Glasgow Warriors came close to causing an upset tonight as they took on the Scottish Netball team, but eventually succombed to the national side.

While Glasgow kept in sight of the Scotland team, they never managed to take the lead, but came within 2 goals on several occasions.

Sam Pinder's side managed to employ some training ground moves, including the Hail Mary pass to Glasgow's Man of the Match, Andy Newman. There could be no doubting the determination of the Warriors in this match, a fact the two injured Scotland players will attest to.

In the end, with such a close result, the Scotland players were able to breathe a sigh of relief as the Warriors headed back to the rugby pitch to consider challenging the girls to a re-match.

They have got to start wearing that head gear to matches!

Definitely - they should wear it when they visit Sarries in London! They should organise more events like Friday's match though - it was wicked fun to watch and they got a good turn out from both netball and rugby supporters. A re-match sounds like a plan!

The head gear did cause a good few laughs - although hefin kept loosing his. And what was wrong with the lineout lift - seemed a perfectly reasonable move to me - dont know why the referees penalised the lads for it!

Hi,

Just wanted to say what a brilliant night Netball Scotland had at the Kelvin Hall. The Warriors were as I knew they would be absolutely superb and provided our girls with quite a challenge. Can I thank the Warrior's fantastic support, who together with our netball fans helped to provide a great atmosphere on the night.

Can't wait for the return match.
