Beziers 14 - 36 Glasgow Warriors

Friendly match played at Camarès on Saturday August 9th 2008 | 12 comments

Chris Kinloch was on target for Glasgow
Glasgow Warriors completed their pre-season tour of the south of France with a convincing 14-36 win over Beziers in the final game of the Challenge Vaquerin in Camarès.

Glasgow led 10-7 at the break after Colin Gregor had broken the deadlock with a penalty then added the conversion to a try by Chris Kinloch in response to a converted score by the French Division 2 side.

Thom Evans extended Glasgow's lead with a try, converted by Ruaridh Jackson before Lome Fa'atu went over.

Sean Lineen's men made the game safe when Max Evans dotted down for try number four and Gregor again added the extra two points.

The victory was completed in style when Jackson darted in for try No.5, Gregor converting. The 3000 strong crowd were well entertained and rewarded the Warriors with a standing ovation at full-time.

Glasgow were awarded the Challenge Vaquerin trophy and have been invited to return next year to defend their title.

"Hello everyone, sorry I am French and I don't write English well so excuse me. I was a staff member during the challenge and would like to thank the players and assistants again for their kindness. It would be a pleasure to see you again next year. The Evans brothers are not bad..."

Its been a while since O level French, but I think what he's trying to say is

"hello everbody, sorry, I am French and I don't write English well, so excuse me please. For the Challenge I was part of the STAFF, and I have to thank the players and all who accompanied them for their sympathy. It will be a pleasure to test you again next year…

but perhaps without the Evans brothers…"

Presumably Tom and Max a good game then

Can anybody comfirm the correct score as www.rugbyrama.fr are saying 36-14.

Yes, you're right. There's a different score in different places. 14-36 has been confirmed by the other glasgowwarriors.com staff who left me behind to work. The gits.
