A try by Vincent Debaty gave Clermont a 5-0 lead at half-time. Aurélien Rougerie added another try in the second half, converted by Brock James. Reflecting on the pre-season camp in Issoire, head coach Sean Lineen told glasgowwarriors.org: "It was a fantastic display against a strong Clermont side who start their Top 14 season next week against Burgoin. "I'm particularly pleased with our defence. The players defended really hard and Clermont scored their first try just before half time and their second after being camped out in our 22 for 15 minutes. That's testament to the players and the work we've done. "We've come together well as a group and used a lot of young players like Peter Horne, Peter Murchie, Jon Welsh, Pat MacArthur and Dave McCall. "Unfortunately there is one injury and it is Richie Gray who will be out for a couple of months after dislocating his elbow."
