February 23, 2020Glasgow Warriors 34 - 19 DragonsGUINNESS PRO14 match played at Scotstoun on Saturday February 22nd 2020 | No comments
Grant Stewart went over for two tries Glasgow Warriors gave their play-off chances a boost after moving up to third in Conference A following a 34-19 triumph over the Dragons at Scotstoun. Tim Swinson, Grant Stewart (twice), Huw Jones and Mesu Dolokoto all touched down as they went ahead of the Cheetahs in the table. Warriors got off to the worst possible start when Rhodri Williams intercepted a stray pass and showed impressive pace to touch down, but the Warriors soon took control. Second-row Swinson levelled matters before Stewart crossed the whitewash to open up a 14-7 advantage after 26 minutes. Peter Horne then added a penalty for a 10-point buffer at the interval and that increased in the early stages of the second half as a dominant maul ended in the hosts' hooker going over once again. To their credit, the visitors did not yield and put together a fine move which resulted in Williams scoring under the posts. The Dragons remained in contention going into the final 10 minutes as Jones and Ashton Hewitt traded tries, but Glasgow sealed the win late on through Dolokoto.
