Scotland centre James McLaren could be on his way back to Glasgow from Bordeaux-Begles.

The former Stirling County midfielder left the Warriors last summer, having originally joined from another French club, Bourgoin, in 2000. Glasgow coach Kiwi Searancke said: "Our chief executive, David Jordan, has been talking with his representatives and we are keen to have him back."

Glasgow may have to be quick or they could risk losing McLaren to an English side. McLaren said: "My agent has been in contact with Glasgow and it all depends on what they can come up with. England is also an attractive option."

Glasgow have been linked to a number of players with Scottish internationalists Andy Craig, Andrew Mower and Mattie Stewart among those rumoured to be interesting the Warriors coaching team.

Glasgow also seem set to sign New Zealander Joe Naufahu after the centre completes his trial period at Hughenden.
