Early Bird Season Tickets

Gregor Townsend, Graeme Beveridge and Chris Paterson at Murrayfield today
Scotland's three professional rugby teams – Border Reivers, Edinburgh Gunners and Glasgow Warriors – have launched their season tickets at Murrayfield today

The 'Early Bird' offer, which includes all Celtic League and Heineken Cup home fixtures, as well as the pre-season friendlies is available until 15 August so fans should sign up quickly to make sure they guarantee the best deals and their own seats at Netherdale, Murrayfield and Hughenden. Not only that, but when they buy an adult season ticket, they can get a child's season ticket absolutely free, PLUS their ticket gains them free entry to all Scotland age grade internationals.

Keith Grainger, Scottish Rugby Commercial & Marketing Director in charge of the pro-teams, said: "What the three teams are offering here is exceptional value for money with the Early Bird prices. Supporters can save up to £111 at the top level purely by buying their season ticket before 15 August. Scottish pro-team matches are great events for all the family and are readily affordable, especially if the Early Bird offers are taken up. Students, for example, would be daft to pass up the amazing £25 deal – what a bargain!"

Supporters can get the chance to see their favourite Scotland players as well as the stars of the RBS 6 Nations, not to mention some All Blacks and Pacific Island leading lights for as little as £99 for the Gunners and Warriors and only £79 for the Reivers for the season – that's £7 (£6 for the Reivers) per game – all that plus KIDS GO FREE (with every adult season ticket).

Can't remember the price last year but £25 for students/U18s seems a fantastic deal for getting this key group along. Just a pity the price only lasts until 15th Aug, while all the students are on holiday. Might have been an idea to extend the offer and try some "high profile" marketing on a captive audience during the various Freshers' weeks at each of the local unis/colleges.

Which brings us to the level of subsidy enjoyed by Glssgow from their owners at the SRU to keep prices down--it would be good if clubs could enjoy the same subsidy support --remember the club accrediation scheme
