Iain Kennedy was in great form for Glasgow
Glasgow came close but fell at the final hurdle to Edinburgh in the Jenkins and Marr Glasgow City Sevens at Dumbreck.

Impressive displays from Glasgow saw off Edinburgh Accies, Melrose and Sale before they went down 40-24 to Edinburgh Gunners in the final.

Glasgow saw off Edinburgh Accies 28-0 before beating Melrose 48-0 in the quarter-finals.

The Warriors then stunned the fast and very physical Sale in the semi-finals with tries from Allan Kelly, Stevie Swindall, Ben Addison and Iain Kennedy for a 24-5 victory.

Despite a great effort, a hat-trick of tries by Ben Addison and a good score from Steve Swindall, the Warriors didn't do enough to overhaul the Gunners in the final.

However, there was some consolation for Glasgow as Iain Kennedy took the player of the tournament award after an afternoon of outstanding displays.

Andy Wilson led the side well and Steve Swindall and Colin White were a handful for teams throughout the afternoon.

Kenco was simply outstanding all day - acceleration, strength, vision...if the rumours are true that he is thinking about chucking pro rugby, someone needs to sit down with him and give him a long hard talking to - he can go a long way in this game

Totally agree. Was outstanding during the tournamment. Will be a waste if he does not continue in the pro scene.
Far to much talent for anything other than Pro rugby or Premier 1 or indeed the English Premiership.

Also congratulations to all at Cartha for all the hard work that was undertaken, to make it a great day out (SUNSHINE HELPED!)
