Heineken Cup Draw

Glasgow Warriors have been drawn with Toulouse, Bath and Newport Gwent Dragons in the 2008/2009 Heineken Cup.

Warriors coach Gary Mercer admits it was going to be a difficult group for Glasgow, but the team could draw inspiration from the heroics produced last season in Europe’s premier competition.

Gary said: “We have been drawn in a tough group with Toulouse and Bath. We were in a tough group last year with Biarritz and Saracens, but we proved ourselves to be a good team at home.

“There will be some good battles within the group stages; I am excited about the draw.”

good to see we have such an easy draw - should qualify with maximum points... Just got a flashback of my O'grade English teacher telling me that sarcasm is the lowest form of wit.

Still not the worst draw providing we can put the Dragons jinx behind us no reason why we can't beat Bath and Toulouse at home.

True .. the beaches aren't so good and neither are the night clubs, Gary! Oh, sorry, you meant the rugby teams?

Isn't wit the highest form of humour tho?

This is a pretty tough group. We'll be up against it but there again when aren't we? Not the size of the dog in the fight and all that...

ITs not bad compared to others: only group id swap it for is Ulsters. (infact, if we got Biarritz instead of Toulouse it could have been a very good draw!)
