A try in extra time gave Scotland's U20 team a 15-10 win over Canada in the IRB Junior World Championship play-off match at Rodney Parade.
Scotland now go into the play-off for ninth/tenth place.
Glasgow coach Shade Munro thinks Glasgow are up to the challenge after being drawn with Bath, Toulouse and Newport Gwent Dragons in the Heineken Cup. Shade, in North America with Scotland 'A', says Glasgow have to build on last season's results. He told glasgowwarriors.org: “We have definitely improved our credibility in the last three or four years. You have to consistent for people to rate you and we have improved and continued to perform at this level.
“Beating Biarritz at home just before Christmas was massive and so was winning away to Munster in the last game of the Magners League.
“We’re playing against the top teams in Europe and we sit among the top five teams in the Magners League, so we are one of the big teams now and there is nothing for us to fear.”
As for the team’s the Warriors face in the Heineken Cup, Munro is adamant that this is a massive opportunity for players and supporters alike.
“Toulouse have a huge history in the Heineken Cup and we have played both them and Bath a few years back, but we’ve never played a Welsh side in the Heineken Cup before, so this is a great new opportunity for this squad of players to do something that no Glasgow team has ever achieved before.
“The Heineken Cup is also a fantastic occasion for the Glasgow public. They have the chance to come and see some top sides packed full of international talent take on the Warriors - also a top team packed full of international talent – representing their city at Firhill.”
