Ruaridh is in his first season as a full-time professional with Glasgow Warriors and admits his progress has already exceeded expectations.
Ruaridh, 20, told the Press and Journal: “It has been a crazy season for me. At the start I was just hoping to make a name for myself, but I’ve already had game time for Glasgow against the likes of Toulouse and Munster, which was a tremendous experience, and now I have the Scotland A game ahead of me. Playing against a full international side will be another step up. You have to have confidence in your ability.
“I’m really excited about the game. I was delighted when I found out I had made the squad and to be named in the side was even better.
“That is when the nerves began to kick in. I’m looking forward to it.
“The squad has worked really well in the four sessions we have had this week and there’s a good vibe.
“To make my Scotland A debut on home territory in Glasgow is great for me and I would expect there will be a decent crowd. Hopefully, we can reward them with a victory.”
