A Glasgow team missing its Six Nations players battled to a 19-19 draw with Connacht to keep their Magners League play-off hopes alive.
Mark told the Evening Times: “It was a real rollercoaster of a game with us being 14-3 up at one stage and then having to score a try from their re-start deep in injury time to get the draw.
“But what we showed is that we have moved on a lot since the Cardiff defeat and tactically and in every other facet this was a huge improvement from that game.
“Even with our strongest side we have a poor record at Connacht, but we can be pleased that we have taken two points rather than none.
“At this stage it is vital we are putting points on the table every time we play and it keeps us very much in the hunt for the play-offs.
“We know how tough it is going to be over at Leinster on Thursday week, but we will be going there to win as they will also be without a large quota of their Ireland players.
“We believe we can surprise them.”
Mark also believes the performance of Ruaridh Jackson at stand-off was a huge plus.
He said: “Ruaridh kicked his penalties well and made sure we played most of the game in the right area.
“People are putting a lot of pressure on him to fill Dan Parks’ shoes when he moves to Cardiff in the summer and I have no doubt he will do that.
“Ruaridh has not had a lot of game time this season because of injury but with two games under his belt, we are starting to see his confidence return and his quality is obvious.”
