There seems to be a few more talented club players that have been omitted from this selection...is it a case of "if the face fits" and eventually they lose faith in the sport due to their continual omission by the 'heirarchy'.

No really kept up with the club scene, but from what I read the selectors limited themselves to those in the top half of Div 1, post the split.
Who do you have in mind?

surely the hawks number 8 miller should have been in with a shout consdering he seemed like a brutal ball carrier in early season.

is the point of this team as more about givin younger guys a bit exsposure to more intense rugby to see if they have potential to maybe go further? or just to win the two games a year they play?

Anyone know if the criteria for this team has changed? At first it was a pinnacle for club guys who would never b anything but good amateurs. Now it definitely looks like a development team with seasoned ex-pro's (Dalziel, McKay, Milligan) nurturing potential future pro's (Brown, Fife, Campbell, Gillies) and incoming wannabe Scots (Kelbrick, Colhoun). It used to be you had to b out of the pro ranks for 3 years before you could play, and also be Scottish qualified. Is Colhoun qualified for Scotland in a way Climo wasn't. I hear he is a fine player but he must have played less than a dozen games in Scotland and is already in this team.
