Glasgow-based A.G. Barr have become the official soft drink partner of Scottish Rugby.

The deal will see the Scotland national team, Scotland 7s team as well as Glasgow Warriors and Edinburgh Rugby supported for the next two seasons by A.G. Barr’s range of brands, including IRN-BRU, Scotland’s favourite soft drink, Strathmore spring water and Barr Cola.

As well as supporters in the stand benefitting from this deal, which will see Barr’s soft drinks available at games, players will also reap rewards, being hydrated by Strathmore spring water.

Furthermore, A.G. Barr also becomes the Official Soft Drink Partner of the Emirates Airline Glasgow 7s.

Dominic McKay, Director of Commercial Operations, Communications and Public Affairs for Scottish Rugby said: “We’re delighted to welcome A.G. Barr to our growing portfolio of commercial partners.

“The provision of water through Strathmore is important for all our teams as hydration plays a key part in players’ well-being.”

Sean Maitland, James Eddie, Rob Harley and Edinburgh's Fraser McKenzie were on hand for the big reveal this morning.

Sean said: “My first experience of IRN-BRU was in 2008 when I came over for the under-20s World Cup and we were introduced to it.

“It’s great to have them on board as they are a well known brand and to have them support Scottish Rugby is great for the profile.

“Scotland, Glasgow and Edinburgh are on the up and having sponsors like this will only help us progress.”

A.G. Barr joins Scottish Rugby’s official partners BT; RBS; Macron, Caledonia Best, Ginger Grouse, Guinness, Dove Men + Care, Spire healthcare, sportscotland, Cashback for Communities, Peter Vardy and viagogo.
