Glasgow Warriors have today revealed their brand new home and alternate Macron playing kit for the 2014/15 season.

The black and blue home shirt includes the names of the 61 clubs in the Glasgow District, subtly printed on the front and back of the jersey.

The white and blue alternate kit features a design on the front, which has been inspired by Glasgow-born architect Charles Rennie Mackintosh's iconic rose design.

There are prominent light blue panels on both the black home kit and white alternate kit and the logo of BT Sport, the club's main sponsor, is displayed on the front of the shirts.

Other sponsors featured on the playing kit include Malcolm Group, QBE and McCrea Financial Services.

The Glasgow District Rugby Union logo has once again been included on the back of the shirt to honour the long and proud history of rugby in Glasgow and the West Of Scotland.

Replica shirts will be available as a standard fit or the players' performance top, while the full Macron merchandise range includes jackets, hooded sweatshirts, t-shirts and polo shirts.

Macron are offering supporters, who buy either a home or alternate shirt at Scotstoun on Saturday, the chance to win fantastic prizes, such as a signed Warriors shirt, the chance to be an official mascot or hospitality for four at the opening game of the new season against Leinster.

The Warriors have also confirmed that they will be auctioning off a set of kit following their first European Rugby Champions Cup fixture against Bath in October, with all proceeds going to the Glasgow School of Art Mackintosh Campus Renewal Appeal, which is raising money to help support the recovery of the school following a major fire earlier in the year.

The team will wear the home kit for the first time when they take on Harlequins in a pre-season friendly at Scotstoun this Saturday and supporters attending the game will be able to buy the kit for the first time at the stadium from 1.30pm.

Glasgow Warriors centre Peter Horne, who modeled the new kit, said: "I really like both the home and alternate Macron kits. They fit really well and are comfortable, which is important.

"I really like having all the clubs from the Glasgow District named on the home shirt, it's a nice touch and make us feel like we're representing all the clubs across the West Of Scotland.

"Hopefully the supporters will like the kit too and we can perform well wearing it next season.”

Glasgow Warriors prop Gordon Reid added: "Ayr played a major part in my development, so it's great to see all the clubs in the Glasgow District on our new home shirt.

"Youth players from these clubs will play a big part in the future of Glasgow Warriors and it's good to see our links with the clubs continue to strengthen.”

Macron CEO Gianluca Pavanello added: "After the Warriors incredible season last year we wanted the new kits to be something special to reflect the clubs achievements.

"Our designers worked very closely with the Warriors to create two unique, bespoke designs that are both technically advanced to reflect the teams requirements, while continuing Macron's haute couture style, which we hope gives the fans something they can wear with pride.

"As always the shirt is completely unique and bespoke to Glasgow Warriors and we hope these new kits can help the club achieve success this season.”

Tickets are still available for Glasgow Warriors v Harlequins at Scotstoun on Saturday (kick-off 3.30pm) from www.glasgowwarriors.org and from the ticket office on 0844 800 3490 (Monday to Friday 9am-5pm).
