Murray McConnell, Tommy Spinks, Connor Braid and Sean Maitland all touched down with Finn Russell adding two penalties and two conversions.
The game marked the first action of the season for a few players with locks Alastair Kellock and Tom Ryder returning after injury.
After the game, captain Al said: “These games are excellent as it gives us all a chance to improve.
“The club boys that stepped in were outstanding and it was a really good hit out for our players, young and old.
“It was a physical test, as it always is against Edinburgh and it was a good to win convincingly. We still have a few things to improve on though.”
