While a lack of discipline was so costly in France last weekend, a feature of both matches was the difficulty the Warriors had in breaking through the Toulouse defence. Too much hard-won possession and territory went unrewarded as Glasgow failed to turn pressure into points.
After Saturday's 12-9 defeat, skipper Josh Strauss said: “I think we struggled at times. That's the outcome of the game. We have to look at that, rectify and get better.
“It was the same thing last week. We let ourselves down with errors and discipline.
“Toulouse are a great team; big men, great defensively, and they showed that in both games, but it’s about being smart and playing a different type of rugby and getting around that.”
Glasgow will need to put things right quickly as they face a series of games vital to their PRO12 hopes.
“I think it’s about playing to our strengths,” added Josh.
“Trying to expose weaknesses and we perhaps didn’t do that [against Toulouse], we just kept running into big men.
“We’ve got to look at ourselves, especially coming into a big game [against Munster in the PRO12] next weekend.
“We showed a lot of character at times, built the scoreboard, and played well at times; it’s just those errors that we’ve got to get out of our game.”
