Positives in defeat

Gregor Townsend says attention now turns to Friday's game against Zebre
The defeat to Munster in Cork sees the Irishmen leapfrog Glasgow to go top of the PRO12.

However, head coach Gregor Townsend says the Warriors can take a lot of positives from the game with Adam Ashe and Lee Jones making their comebacks from injury and a number of players making their debuts for the club.

Gregor told glasgowwarriors.org: "It's unfortunate we didn't pick up a losing bonus point, but I was pleased with the displays of guys who haven't played much or any rugby for us this season and I thought the bench did really well when they came on.

"Rossouw (de Klerk) scored a fantastic try to put us in a very good position, but unfortunately with a slip in the backs we went from within two points to seven points behind, but the players kept working hard to the end.

"I felt there was a real change in the second half, we started defending much better and had the wind behind us. We played a lot of rugby down in Munster's half and started to get penalties.

"Will Bordill was excellent on his first start for the club and that game will have been of real benefit to Adam Ashe who came back from injury and did a lot of good things. It was also great to see Lee Jones back from injury too."

Warriors play Zebre at Scotstoun next Friday in the final match before a three-week international break and Gregor says he wants to finish this block of games on a high.

He added: "It's a very big game in the league standings, Munster have a big game away to Ospreys next week and we're only a point behind them, so it would be great to be pushing them going into the break.

"It's a quick turnaround to Friday, but we'll see who is available to us from last night's squad and we hope to get two or three players back from Scotland."
