Scotland U20 make changes

Zander Fagerson starts for Scotland U20
Scotland head coach Sean Lineen has made four changes to the starting XV ahead of the side’s World Rugby U20 Championship fifth place semi-final against Australia later today.

Scotland beat Argentina 29-6 in the final group game leaving the U20 side eighth in the overall seedings.

It means that they are now grouped together with Australia, Ireland and Wales in the fifth to eighth play-off pool, and will play one of either Ireland or Wales, depending on results in their last tie of the Championship.

Head coach Sean Lineen said: “We’ve named a fairly settled side for what will be a very tough tie against a good Australia team. We were delighted with the result and display against Argentina, and it has set the benchmark for our final two ties.

“Although we are guaranteed our highest ever finish in the competition, we don’t want to settle for eighth, and want to keep challenging and climb up the competition standings.

Prop Dan Elkington and hooker Ross Graham, making his first start of the campaign, come in to the starting XV replacing Murray McCallum and Sam James. Andrew Davidson comes off the bench to partner Scott Cummings in the second-row.

Captain Jamie Ritchie returns to the starting side at openside flanker, with Lewis Wynne moving to the blindside.
