Gregor Townsend has named his Glasgow team to take on Canada in Halifax tomorrow (ko 3.00pm local / 7.00pm UK).

Newly appointed captain Peter Murchie starts at full-back, while Rory Hughes, fresh from his Scotland debut against Italy last weekend, lines up on the left wing, with Lee Jones on the opposite side.

Glenn Bryce and Fraser Lyle will form the centre partnership.

New signings Mike Blair and Rory Clegg will form the half-back pairing at Graves-Oakley Memorial Park.

In the front-row Jerry Yanuyanutawa, Pat MacArthur and Zander Fagerson start, while Tim Swinson returns from injury in the boiler-house, alongside Kieran Low.

Josh Strauss is at number 8, with Chris Fusaro and Simone Favaro making up the back-row.

Stand-off Scott Wight has been named amongst the replacements, after he joined the club on loan earlier this week.

Speakng to glasgowwarriors.org, head coach Gregor Townsend said: "We've had a really productive few days of training in Halifax and we're looking forward to our final pre-season game against Canada tomorrow.

"This is an opportunity for us to work on what we learned against Clermont and build on the work we've put in since that game a fortnight ago.

"We're expecting a tough match against an international side, who will be playing at the Rugby World Cup next month, however we've prepared well and we're excited about the challenge which lies ahead.”

Former Warriors DTH van der Merwe and Connor Braid start for Canada.

The game will be shown live on BBC ALBA.
