Dan McFarland will join Gregor Townsend's Scotland coaching team
Gregor Townsend has confirmed he will take two of his Glasgow Warriors coaches with him to the Scotland national team next summer.

Ahaed of his switch to the top job at Murrayfield next summer, Gregor has announced defence coach Matt Taylor and forwards specialist Dan McFarland will join him.

Scotland attack coach Jason O'Halloran and forwards coach Jonathan Humphreys will head in the opposite direction and form part of Dave Rennie's new regime at Glasgow Warriors.

Matt Taylor, who has combined his work at Warriors with a part-time role on Cotter's team, said he was thrilled to be following Gregor Townsend to the international side.

He said: "Gregor and I have known each other for a long time and have a really good understanding of each other's coaching principles and philosophies, having developed many of them together as players a number of years ago.

"The chance to work with him professionally over the past five years at Glasgow has been great and I'm pleased that's set to continue."

Dan McFarland, who previously coached with reigning PRO12 champions Connacht, said: "I'm very excited. it's a great honour to be asked to coach a national side and all the more so because I know many of the players who represent Scotland through my work with Glasgow."
