George Horne is in Scotland's Commonwealth Games squad
Team Scotland have named their 7s squad for the Commonwealth Games with five Glasgow Warriors involved.

Head Coach John Dalziel has named a thirteen-man squad for the Games including Matt Fagerson, George Horne, Ruaridh Jackson, Lee Jones and Max McFarland.

All five are likely to compete with the 7s squad at the upcoming HSBC World Rugby 7s Series tournament in Hong Kong (6-8 April) before travelling to the Gold Coast for the Games (14-15 April).

It will be Lee Jones' third Commonwealth Games having represented Team Scotland in Delhi 2010 and Glasgow 2014.

George Horne spent much of last season with the Scotland 7s squad and played in Scotland's Cup Final victory over England at Twickenham last May.

Max McFarland signed for the Warriors on a partnership contract with Scotland 7s this season and has played in every tournament on the World Series this year. He is currently Scotland's joint top try scorer with 15.

Matt Fagerson played under John Dalziel with Scotland U20s last year and Ruaridh Jackson played 7s during his Academy development in 2006/07.

Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Dave Rennie said: "It's a huge honour to represent your country at a Commonwealth Games and we're rapt for the guys who have been selected.

"It's a great opportunity for each individual and hopefully their inclusion will strengthen Scotland's claims for a medal.

"They'll miss three games for us while they're away but we have good depth and we'll be backing the guys who stay to do a job for us as we gear up to the play-offs."
