In season 2006/7 Stevie estalished himself in the Warriors stand-out young back-row.

Steve is a former Whitecraigs player and has represented Scotland at U18, U19, U21 and A level.

Steve joined Glasgow Warriors after a number of impressive performances when called up from Glasgow Hawks. He joined the Warriors as a full-time player for the start of season 2005-06, but he had already played 14 games for the professional team before then.

By the end of 2004-2005 he was a regular at blind side, playing in eight successive games and scoring one of Glasgow’s seven tries in the 57-30 victory against Llanelli at Stradey Park.

His Glasgow debut was in the warm-up game against Leeds Tykes at Headingley in August 2004, and his first Celtic League appearance followed less than two months later against Ospreys at Swansea.

Steve, originally with Whitecraigs and latterly Glasgow Hawks, came up through the ranks of Glasgow age-grade district rugby and played for Scotland in the Home Unions’ under-18 tournament in Dublin in 2000.

As a 19-year-old, he experienced senior representative rugby in scoring a try in the Inter-District Championship, when Glasgow beat Scottish Exiles at Waterloo in May 2002, and the following season he played in eight internationals for Scotland under-21, including a victory against England at Newbury in the age group’s world championship.

Stevie made his Scotland A debut in the Churchill Cup in the Summer of 2007.
