The former Stormers and Western Province forward qualifies to play for Scotland courtesy of his father, who was born in Peebles.
The openside flanker, who can also play at blindside and number eight, was ever-present for Western Province when they won both the Vodacom Cup and Currie Cup in 2012.
He then went on to make his Super Rugby debut for the Stormers.
Tyrone has previously had stints in England with Northampton, Penzance and Cornish Pirates.
On joining Glasgow, Tyrone told glasgowwarriors.org: "I can't wait to get over. My flights are booked and I'm looking for apartments now. I just can't wait to start training with the lads and meet all of them.
"I actually went to the RPC Rugby Academy in South Africa with Josh (Strauss) for two years when we were 18 and 19. We both had stints overseas and then I played against him in the Currie Cup so it'll be good to see him again."
Tyrone's favourite position is openside flanker but he says he's happy to play anywhere in the backrow in order to get in the team.
I can play open and blind and a bit of eight. The position I love the most is openside but if I get picked at number eight I'll be just as happy to play there as well.
"The experience I've picked up playing Super Rugby and training and playing with some of the best players in the world such as Jean De Villiers and Schalk Burger has taught me a lot."
Tyrone is able to play for Scotland as his Dad was born in Peebles and he says his Dad would be very proud if one day he pulled on the famous blue jersey.
"As soon as he heard Glasgow were interested he told me that as soon as I get my first Glasgow jersey I've to send it home as he wants to put it up on his wall!
"He's always wanted me to play for Glasgow and it's a good stage for me to play on.
"My dream is to one day play for Scotland and if that was to ever happen my father would be the proudest man on earth and it would be my greatest achievement.”
