The young hooker has been in good form for Glasgow and was outstanding in last week's victory over Ulster.
Now Scott wants to carry on where he left off in today's Celtic League encounter with Connacht in Galway.
Scott said: "I'm just taking my chance with Gordon away on Six Nations duty. If I don't make the most of the opportunity I will get left behind.
"Our result against Ulster just proved that despite our poor campaign we've got a fantastic attitude."
Coach, Hugh Campbell said: "He has been improving steadily throughout the season and is definitely on the path to the top.
"Obviously, he has been in Gordy's shadows at Glasgow but we have always believed he is a player with tremendous potential and ability.
