Sean claims danger lies throughout the entire Irish three-quarter line.
Sean tells today's Evening News: "While there is a lot made of the threat posed by O'Driscoll and D'Arcy, and rightly so, it would be foolish if we were to think by closing them alone down we would be well on the way to a win. All along the Irish back-line there are potential Lions and none stands out more for me than Denis Hickie.
"Of course, I hope O'Driscoll and D'Arcy shake off hamstring injuries to play because it would be an even bigger boost for Scottish rugby to bounce back from the French defeat by beating a first-choice Irish line-up - besides no player wants to hear of another being sidelined.
"But, regardless of their fitness the Irish will field a good set of backs."
But Sean is upbeat about Saturday’s prospects, saying: "Italy had the staying power to come back at Ireland with the final try in Rome last weekend and overall things seem to be a lot closer between all the contenders this year. Hopefully, too, there are other factors in our favour such as the maturing that has been going on in our ranks and home advantage.
"Scotland have been a young team for the past year with most of our players aged 25 and under.
"Now there are signs we are starting to come of age and with the home fans behind us there is every reason to hope we can start getting back to where Scotland were at a few years ago in starting to string together a run of wins against Ireland. It has to start somewhere."
