Hefin played his final game for Huddersfield Giants at the weekend after their defeat by Wigan ruled them out of the Super League play-offs.
Hefin has begun training with the Warriors but is unlikely to figure in coach Hugh Campbell's squad for Saturday's meeting with Cardiff at Hughenden (ko 7.30pm).
