Horne will link up with Gregor Townsend's coaching team ahead of the opening two rounds of the 2023 tournament, joining the Scotland setup alongside his Glasgow commitments over the next fortnight.
Horne will focus primarily on the contact area and skills, the two areas on which he has focused as part of Franco Smith's coaching team at Scotstoun this season.
Horne joins former Glasgow Warriors coaches Townsend and John Dalziel as part of the Scotland coaching team, with the squad prepare to open their tournament away to England next weekend.
