Unlike previous campaigns, there is no mid-season breather following the traditional 1872 Cup double-header against Edinburgh Rugby. Warriors secured victories at both Hampden Park and Murrayfield to retain the trophy for a fourth consecutive year, but any chance to pause has been removed from the calendar.
Instead, Glasgow dive straight back into United Rugby Championship action, hosting Zebre at Scotstoun in their first fixture of 2026 on Saturday. That match is followed by a demanding Champions Cup sequence, with an away trip to Clermont Auvergne before welcoming Saracens to Glasgow.
The unforgiving run of fixtures is expected to stretch the squad, yet Fagerson is confident that those on the fringes are more than capable of stepping in.
"It'll definitely test our squad depth," said Fagerson in The Scotsman. "But that's the positive side - there are boys behind the scenes who maybe haven't had much game time recently.
"Take Angus Fraser, for example. He hadn't played for three or four weeks, came on at the weekend and I thought he was outstanding. Then you've got guys like Ally Miller, who maybe haven't featured as much in the last couple of games.
"He's been working away in the background, doing all the line-out stuff and making sure he's ready. There are players chomping at the bit, putting in the work, and that's exactly what you want. If injuries happen or players need managed, there are guys ready to step up."
Warriors head into the new year on the back of an impressive four-match winning streak, highlighted by Champions Cup victories over Toulouse and Sale, followed by home and away derby wins against Edinburgh.
"I think we've shown a lot of heart, especially in the last two or three games," Fagerson added. "When things weren't going our way, we stuck to the process and trusted the plan.
"There's still plenty we can improve on though, and that's the exciting part. We've had some strong results, but there are areas where we can still get everyone fully aligned."
