Despite being without 20 first-team regulars, Franco Smith's men produced a powerful display to claim maximum-points and extend their winning run to nine matches in all competitions.
With 15 players away on Scotland duty ahead of the Six Nations and a further five sidelined through injury, Glasgow were forced to dig deep to close out the game despite a spirited Munster comeback.
McDowall led from the front as the Warriors crossed through Ollie Smith, Dan Lancaster, Jare Oguntibeju and Josh McKay, with Lancaster also adding 11 points from the tee.
Reflecting on the contribution of the players who stepped up in the absence of the club's international contingent, McDowall told Premier Sports: "It's something we pride ourselves on here massively is that whoever steps into the jersey does the same job," he said.
"These are some of the most fun times to be a Glasgow Warrior when the international boys are away and the boys who work hard every week and maybe don't get a chance get their time to play. It's nice to see them step up and play really well."
One of five members of Glasgow's Six Nations squad released to feature, the 16-cap centre delivered a Player of the Match performance in front of the Scotstoun crowd.
"It's an easy one to get up for when you are playing here at Scotstoun in front of your fans and your family and you know the boys are going to dig in," he said.
The win leaves Warriors top of the URC standings heading into the first Six Nations break. Next up for Warriors is a trip to Connacht on Saturday, February 28.
