Speaking to Premier Sports, McDowall said: "We really put a lot of work in during the week and like Franco said, we've probably been building towards this for three years since he's been here now. So yeah, a bit of relief and a lot to work on for next week."
Player-of-the-Match McDowall's break from halfway led to Glasgow's opening score and the centre grabbed his own try late on. McDowall added: "It was good, but yeah, I think I won't take much credit for the last one. I think all the boys did the hard work and I just finished it in the corner on the wing. So yeah, a massive occasion and just happy to get the result."
Asked about the filthy conditions served up by Storm Dave, McDowall said: "We're used to we're training every day, but now it was good. Um you know, I think the halfbacks 9 and 10 both sets that came on off the bench managed it really well and put us in the right position, especially in that second half. So, I think we're lucky we're training in that every day, so we're used to it."
Warriors now face Toulon in next weekend's Challenge Cup quarter-final, a prospect McDowall is looking forward to.
"Yeah, I know - massive. A European powerhouse like Toulon getting to play them here at Scotstoun in front of our fans, who again were amazing today. It's what we want to be in the latter stages for."
