The home of Scottish rugby had initially been ruled out as an option for a Glasgow 'home' final because country star Zach Bryan is scheduled to perform there six days earlier. Under normal circumstances, that would not leave enough time for the stage to be removed and the stadium restored for rugby.
However, Scotland Rugby News understands Scottish Rugby and Glasgow Warriors are now exploring whether an exception could be made.
Discussions are ongoing over the possibility of staging the final at Murrayfield, with the time required to de-rig the concert stage understood to be the key issue.
As things stand, the reward for Glasgow finishing top of the URC table would be a 'home' final - should they get that far - at Ulster's Affidea Stadium in Belfast.
Glasgow will leave Scotstoun after next weekend's quarter-final against Connacht as the venue prepares to host athletics during the Commonwealth Games. That means a home semi-final would be played at Murrayfield on June 6 against either the Bulls - whom Glasgow beat in the 2024 URC grand final - or Munster.
If Glasgow reach the final on June 20, there is currently no other stadium in Scotland available to host the showpiece.
Hampden is staging a Take That concert the night before, pitch work is planned at Celtic Park - where Glasgow hosted the 2019 PRO14 final - and Ibrox's playing surface is understood to be too small.
Repair work is also under way at both Kilmarnock's Rugby Park and St Johnstone's McDiarmid Park, which have previously hosted Scotland internationals, while neither of Edinburgh's football stadia are available.
The URC are expected to announce proposed final venues this week following the conclusion of the regular season.
If Glasgow do make the final but Murrayfield is ultimately ruled out, another option could see home advantage switched to whoever the Warriors face.
