The home of Scottish Rugby has been confirmed as the venue for Glasgow's last-four showdown following the Warriors' 33-21 victory over Connacht at Scotstoun.
After weeks of speculation, Murrayfield has also been confirmed as the host venue for the URC final. However, Smith is remaining focused on the immediate challenge ahead.
"If Glasgow make it," said after the win over Connacht.
"It will be fantastic, you know. Imagine playing the final in Murrayfield. It will be just unbelievable."
While Smith is not expecting Edinburgh fans to swap allegiances, he believes there is an opportunity for Scottish rugby supporters to rally behind a side representing the country on the big stage.
"I think we've got far enough now to say we're representing Scotland and not just Glasgow any more," said Smith.
"Most of the boys have played so many Tests at Murrayfield already. They know the surface and the atmosphere there. I hope we can get a lot of people in there for that game to make it special. It's not often that a Scottish side can play a home semi-final there so hopefully we can make it a special night.
"I don't expect Edinburgh fans to grab a Glasgow flag to swing around. But for them it will be a good entertaining opportunity and hopefully we can fill Murrayfield as that would be fantastic.
"We've learned from the Toulon game and there was a lot of pressure on from that perspective. We’ve now got that monkey off our back I believe.
"We're going into a different challenge. This competition this season has been really tough. It will be tough regardless of who we play."
