Jamie Dobie has extended his contract with Glasgow
Glasgow Warriors have continued building for the 2026/27 season, with Scotland scrum-half Jamie Dobie committing his future to the club by signing a new long-term contract extension with Franco Smith's squad.

The agreement comes as the 25-year-old closes in on a significant milestone, having made 99 appearances for the Warriors during his seven years at Scotstoun.

Dobie made his senior professional debut in the opening fixture of the 2019/20 campaign, coming off the bench against the Toyota Cheetahs after progressing directly from Merchiston Castle School into the Glasgow setup.

The Inverness-born back quickly made his mark on the Warrior Nation. In just his first start for the club, he produced a Player of the Match performance and received a standing ovation from the Scotstoun crowd following victory over the Dragons in February 2020.

His impressive displays for Glasgow were rewarded with international recognition, earning his Scotland debut in October 2021 when he came off the bench in a 60-14 win over Tonga at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Dobie showcased his versatility by making his first start on the wing in March 2023, helping the Warriors secure a memorable 38-26 victory over Munster at Thomond Park.

Comfortable at both scrum-half and wing, the Highland RFC product enjoyed an outstanding 2025/26 campaign for both club and country. He finished as Glasgow's joint-leading try-scorer in the BKT United Rugby Championship and delivered a number of standout performances throughout the season.

Among the highlights were two-try displays away to the Ospreys and Edinburgh, earning Player of the Match honours on both occasions, as well as a hat-trick for Scotland in their victory over the USA at Scottish Gas Murrayfield.

Jamie Dobie said: "I'm delighted to extend my contract with Glasgow Warriors. It's a club that means a lot to me and I'm incredibly proud every time I pull on the jersey, especially playing in front of our supporters at Scotstoun.

"It's a brilliant environment here, and spending every day surrounded by world class players, coaches and staff makes it the best place for me to keep developing as a player.

"We've got an exciting, ambitious group here and I'm really looking forward to seeing what we can achieve together over the next few years."

Glasgow Warriors Head Coach Franco Smith said: "Jamie has shown consistent growth during his time with the club and continues to develop as a player and a leader within our environment.

"His versatility and understanding of our game are important attributes, as is his willingness to work hard every day and set a positive example for those around him.

"He is a player who cares deeply about representing Glasgow Warriors and we are pleased that he has committed his long-term future to the club."
