The Scotland international and his team-mates will run out on the newly-installed pitch for the first time when Ulster visit Scotstoun this weekend, following last Saturday's bonus-point victory over Munster.
Glasgow enjoyed an impressive record on home soil last season, winning all 10 of their BKT United Rugby Championship matches at Scotstoun during the regular season.
Despite the change underfoot, Fagerson believes the Warriors' home remains a difficult destination for any opposition.
"We pride ourselves on our record at home," Fagerson told BBC Scotland.
"It's a very tough place to come, even with the new pitch.
"Everyone's really excited to be back out, we had our first training session on it on Monday and the boys are ready to rip in at the weekend.
"We're excited to be back in front of our fans and our family."
The new surface was installed following this summer's Commonwealth Games, replacing the pitch on which Glasgow have played and trained for the last eight years.
Fagerson and his fellow forwards have already begun adapting to the differences, with the 28-year-old expecting the squad to quickly become accustomed to their new surroundings.
"It's grand," he said.
"It's taken a bit of time to get used to in certain ways, like with the scrums.
"You've played on a pitch for the last eight years and then you have to try something a bit different when you're training every day on it and playing.
"It'll take a little bit of time just to get used to it but I think the boys love it.
"The guys have done a brilliant job of getting it in so quickly."
Fagerson heads into the weekend after playing the full 80 minutes in Glasgow's opening-round victory at Thomond Park.
The number eight was once again at the heart of the Warriors' work with ball in hand, registering 21 carries - more than any other player across the opening round of the BKT URC.
Glasgow ultimately overturned a 17-7 half-time deficit to secure a bonus-point victory, with tries from Nathan McBeth and George Horne followed by Jamie Dobie's second score of the evening to complete the comeback.
The Warriors now turn their attention to Ulster and a return to Scotstoun, with Fagerson and his team-mates looking to continue the home form that proved such a feature of last season.
