Puafisi has 16 caps for his country and has played for Gloucester 35 times since moving to England in November 2013.
Prior to his arrival he spent a year at the Tasman Makos in the South Island of New Zealand.
He was part of the Tonga squad which finished third in the Pacific Nations Cup and will play for his country at the Rugby World Cup in England.
