August 18, 2012Sale Sharks 49 - 27 Glasgow WarriorsFriendly match played at Heywood Road on Saturday August 18th 2012 | No comments
Peter Horne marked his return from injury with Glasgow's third try Glasgow Warriors went down 49-27 to Sale Sharks in Mark Cueto's Testimonial match at Heywood Road today. Glasgow's tries came from Peter Murchie, Tommy Seymour and Peter Horne with Ruaridh Jackson adding two penalties and a conversion with Scott Wight kicking the other two conversions. Glasgow coach Gregor Townsend said: We're clearly disappointed to lose, and there are a lot of things that need to be worked on from a coaching perspective, but the whole point of pre-season games is to flag these things up, and I'm confident we'll see an improvement v Exeter. "It's great to see Peter Horne, James Eddie and Ryan Wilson back after injury, and Pete hit a great line for his try." Glasgow will now look to put things right when they face Exeter Chiefs at Millbrae on Thursday evening. Glasgow's new coach said: "It will be fantastic to play in front of our own supporters and make sure we're firing well before Ulster on the 31st." Team Scorers
