Glasgow's hopes of a Heineken Cup place next season were dashed as Borders ran out deserved 28-19 winners at Netherdale.

Andy Henderson scored Glasgow's only try with Calvin Howarth claiming the rest of the points with the boot. Borders scored tries through Bruce Douglas, Gareth Morton, Campbell Feather and Nikki Walker. Tanner Vili added a conversion and two penalty goals and earned the man-of-the-match award. Glasgow's Rory Kerr was sin-binned in the first half while Borders had Bruce Douglas and Campbell Feather yellow carded.

Coach Richie Dixon said: "I couldn't fault the lads for the effort they put into the game. This was always going to be a difficult match and Borders ran out worthy winners in the end."
