Glasgow's points came from the boot of Calvin Howarth while Brendan Laney scored 25 of Edinburgh's points including two tries. A try by prop Craig Smith and a penalty try accounted for Edinburgh's other points.
The same old problems were evident for Glasgow as they enjoyed a good deal of possession but seem incapable of breaking the gain line. The Warriors looked particularly vulnerable through the centre - a problem that has been evident since the loss of James McLaren but doesn't seem to have been addressed. Edinburgh looked stronger, more dynamic and able to secure fast ball - something Glasgow were unable to do.
The Warriors suffered a number of injuries as Petrie and Blades were withdrawn at half-time although Blades had to limp back on to cover for the sin-binned Hilton. Gordon Bulloch also had to return to the field to cover for his replacement Scott Lawson who was forced off with forearm injury.
The Glasgow coaches must now muster their team of walking wounded and try to lift them for their game with Borders at Hughenden next Friday (ko 7.30pm). They face an unenviable task.
