Warriors the priority for Wilson

Andy Wilson has admitted he would swap his first Scotland call-up for a Warriors revival. Wilson has replaced injured team mate Jon Petrie in the pre-Six Nations squad but claims his priority is to help Glasgow out of trouble.

Wilson said: "I feel I have just scratched the surface in terms of what I can give. There is a lot more to come. I went to Glasgow with no illusions of what I was going to be undertaking - but I would easily swap personal success for some victories." Coach Kiwi Searancke has labelled Wilson his find of the season and there have been reports that Bath are interested in signing the flanker.

Meanwhile James McLaren has hinted he would consider a return to Glasgow Warriors in the future. The centre asked to be released from his contract last spring to head for Bordeaux but, as speculation is rife about disharmony at Glasgow, McLaren says he enjoyed being back at the club during a Christmas visit.

He said: "I'm still tied to my contract at Bordeaux. However, when I met coach Kiwi Searancke I got on well with him and I liked what he was talking about and his ideas for the future. I wouldn't say anything was imminent but there are possibilities there."
