Rory Kerr in Scotland A Squad

Rory Kerr has earned a surprise recall to the international set-up despite being unable to convince Glasgow coach Kiwi Searancke that he merits a starting place in the Warriors team.

Kerr, who claimed his first two caps during last summer's tour of North America, has been included in the A squad for the match with their English counterparts next Friday. Kerr has yet to make a competitive start for Glasgow this season, his only starts being in pre-season friendlies and development matches. He has recently been given a place on the bench for Heineken Cup and Pro Cup games but there have been rumours of interest in his availability from Newcastle Falcons and Leicester Tigers. For the moment Kerr will try to make up for lost time and force his way into Ian McGeechan's World Cup plans.
