Roland Reid back in Scotland squad

Roland Reid has been included in the Scotland squad for training at Murrayfield on Monday 12 May.

"We've included Roland to see him working with the top squad again, which often provides a good indication for us on how a player is faring," Ian McGeechan explained. McGeechan noted: "This is a squad from which we're looking to select our team to play the Barbarians (28 May) and then our tour of South Africa. We'll probably take 26 players to South Africa."

Interestingly, Reid has been named among the forwards although he made a try-scoring debut for Scotland on the wing. Reid is joined in the squad by Glasgow colleagues Graeme Beveridge, Andy Henderson, Glenn Metcalfe, Gordon Bulloch and Jon Petrie.

Reid has also been named in the NIG Scottish Thistles squad to compete in the Amsterdam Sevens on 17-18 May.
