It doesn't look like Gordon McIlwham will be playing his rugby at Glasgow next season. Glasgow recently tried to tempt their former player back from France, but the former Clarkston and Hawks prop says a move is unlikely this summer.

In an interview with Iain Morrison in today's Sunday Herald, McIlwham said: "Glasgow don't seem to have much of a budget to work with."

At 33, he feels he has plenty to offer and, while he can't agree terms with Glasgow for next season, he is hopeful of ending his career back home. He concedes that he has found picking up the French language a tough task and he admits that even his three-year old son speaks better French than dad. It seems that the Glasgow-born prop is not about to "go native.
