Cammy ready to step in

Cammy Mather could step in for Jon Petrie
Scotland team doctor James Robson reported today that flanker Jon Petrie continues to progress following the shoulder injury he suffered against the USA.

"Whether he will recover in time to make selection for the French game remains to be seen but there's no doubt he will be fit and raring to for for next week (the Fiji game)," he said.

If Jon misses the Fiji game, and in the absence of the banned Martin Leslie, Glasgow captain Cammy Mather will come into contention for a starting place.

Glasgow Back-up squad member, Fergus Thomson, looks likely to make his first team debut for Glasgow Hawks on Saturday in what will be an exciting top of the table clash with Aberdeen GSFP at Old Anniesland. Fergus will join a number of other Glasgow back-up squad members on show.
