Cammy is determined to take his chance, just as he did on one of his few previous appearances on that side of the scrum. "I don't play there often but I did so five times with Leeds last season and was also there the day we (an English First Division Select) beat the Springboks," he said.
Cammy admits that he arrived in Australia not expecting to play against the side against whom he won the last of his four caps three years ago.
"It has been some chain of events in the last week," he said. "Firstly Andrew being injured, then JP and now Marty being suspended.
"Now it's the challenge of playing France and facing two of the best back-row forwards in the world in Serge Betsen and Olivier Magne and my over-whelming feeling is of excitement."
Cammy's Glasgow teammates Glenn Metcalfe, Andy Henderson, Gordon Bulloch are also included while Jon Petrie should be fit enough to come into contention for the final group game against Fiji.
