Bad night for Glasgow

Moffat">Stuart Moffat went over for a try in the closing minutes
Glasgow crashed to another heavy Celtic League defeat at Musgrave Park tonight eventually going down 26-10.

It could have been even worse as Munster were 26-0 up with minutes to go when Graeme Morrison and Moffat">Stuart Moffat crossed for Glasgow tries but it was scant consolation.

Both sides wasted chances during a dull first-half with no scoring until five minutes before half-time when Munster took the lead with a penalty from Jeremy Staunton, followed by a Mike Mullins try, with Staunton converting for a 10-0 interval lead.

Three more Staunton penalties increased their advantage to 19-0 after 55 minutes before Glasgow's frustration led to a couple of yellow cards. At one stage Glasgow were reduced to 13 players after Donnie MacFadyen and skipper Paul Dearlove were sent to the sin-bin for killing the ball in rucks.

Munster took advantage by scoring a second try after 69 minutes. David Wallace scored under the posts with Staunton easily adding the extra points for 26-0.

Glasgow's up and down form and their inability to salvage bonus points sees them sitting at the wrong end of the Celtic League making next week's game with fellow strugglers Leinster a must-win match for Glasgow.

Match report

Jon Petrie will take the place of Ross Beattie on the Scotland bench for the game with France. Beattie suffered a groin strain and JP has recovered from his shoulder injury.
