Big improvement needed - Cammy Mather

Cammy knows a big improvement is needed
In today's Sunday Herald, Cammy Mather looks back on Scotland's defeat to Wales, and warns that a big improvement is needed if another big defeat in next week's Calcutta Cup match is to be avoided.

"We all believed that we had a chance to win here today but as Matt Williams said we were beaten by the better team on the day," said Cammy.

"As usual Scotland were too naive and too nice in contact and we need to put boots to bodies if they are lying on the ball and preventing fair release; in other words if they are cheating."

Cammy goes on: "We will learn whatever lessons we can from this game and move on to the next because that is what sport is all about. We aim to win every match that we start and next Saturday will be no different. I love this job that I have but personally speaking I hate losing – I can’t stand it and I refuse to turn up next weekend as cannon fodder or just to make up numbers."
